Have your say on park’s future

Residents are being invited to an event this week to give their views on how to improve a popular park in Bishopbriggs.

Woodhill Residents’ Group is asking for ideas and suggestions for the area’s Etive Park.

The ‘Visualisation’ will give local residents the opportunity to suggest how the facility can be changed and improved.

The suggestions will then be drawn up by an artist and architect.

The finished results will be displayed at a consultation event aimed at discovering the most popular ideas, with the next steps being to find possible funding.

Donald Macdonald, chairman of Woodhill Residents’ Group, said: “Etive Park is a popular local amenity. It has great potential to become an even bigger asset to the local area.

“At either end of the park we have great play areas, something the group was created to campaign for.

“Now we want to look at the open spaces and see what can be added to make it more interesting to visit.”

He added: “We are particularly keen to hear the views and ideas of local residents who live close to the park.”

Woodhill Residents’ Group uses the park every year as the venue for its annual Family Fun Day, which is held every September.

Over the years it has also played host to daffodil bulb plantings, local history walks for schools and a cycle festival.

The ‘Visualisation’event will be held in Etive Park on Sunday, May 18, from 1pm until 3pm.
