Hearing aid days changed

Hearing aid help drop-in workshops will be moved from Mondays to Saturdays, starting this weekend.

The monthly Hear to Help drop-in, offering free hearing aid maintenance to NHS hearing aid wearers that takes place in Clarkston Library is moving from the second Monday of every month to the second Saturday of every month from Saturday, January 10.

Run by the charity Action on Hearing Loss Scotland, trained volunteers will be on hand between 2-4pm to carry out the maintenance and also give information on issues relating to hearing loss. Hear to Help means that people who wear hearing aids can get them looked at locally without a trip to the hospital for batteries or to get their hearing aid tubing changed.

Action on Hearing Loss Scotland project co-ordinator Katie Green, who runs the project said: “A good working hearing aid makes the world of difference to hearing aid wearers and is essential when chatting with family and friends.

“We look forward to welcoming new clients to the drop-in as well as those who have been regular visitors. We hope that the new weekend time will suit hearing aid wearers who are working during the week.”
