Helen Atkinson will light Biggar bonfire
This year’s Biggar Bonfire will be lit just after 9pm on Hogmanay in front of the Corn Exchange by octogenarian Helen Atkinson.
Helen (80), was born back in 1931 in a flat within yards of the bonfire site.
She is delighted to be the star turn at this year’s fire.
She said: “It is a great honour to be chosen.”
