Help Strathcarron Hospice win lottery funding

The pioneering Hospice@Home service run by Strathcarron Hospice has reached the final six of the National Lottery Awards, and is competing against six other projects from across the UK for the title of Best Health Project.

A Strathcarron spokeswoman said: “We can only win with your support, as the winner will be the project with the most votes, so please encourage everyone to vote for Strathcarron Hospice.

“This is a great chance to make sure that everyone knows more about Strathcarron Hospice, and our Hospice@Home service in particular – both to encourage appropriate referrals to the service and to help us raise more money to keep it going.”

The Hospice@Home service supports people to stay at home or to be discharged home from hospital or hospice, at the very end of life, if that is their wish.

Specialist nurses support patients and carers at what is a very difficult and distressing time, in order to achieve the best quality of care.

If the project wins there’s a £2,000 cash prize to help keep it going, and also a star-studded appearance on a BBC1 programme which will help to keep the profile

Voting started on June 24 and runs until midnight on July 29.
