Design Project which attracted a range of comments, ideas and suggestions.

An online pitch for ideas also drew more than 1,000 views and over 200 individual comments on how the area could be improved.

Now another public event is to be held on Wednesday at Lenzie Old Parish Church on Wednesday, November 30.

Residents are welcome to drop in any time between 3.30pm and 5pm to meet the team and view feedback received

A design workshop from 6.45pm till 9pm - no experience needed - will aim to pull together and develop various ideas using model kits.

A separate engagement event is being held with representatives of people with physical and/or sensory impairments.

The council’s regeneration chief, Councillor Alan Moir, said: “We hope as many local residents, businesses and groups as possible can drop in for a chat about comments and suggestions which have been received, as well as potential ways forward.

“This project will see Lenzie village centre improved, but there are no firm proposals at the

moment - it will all be inspired and led by comments and feedback.”

The Lenzie Street Design Project aims to improve the public space in the village centre and improve passenger/transfer facilities between bus, rail, bike and on foot.

Another objective is to make it easier for people of all ages and abilities to travel on foot and by bike to local facilities - and to make public spaces feel safer and look more attractive.

The initial consultation is over, but the website remains open as a place to find out about future events and opportunities to get directly involved in the design process.

Further workshops are due to be held next year to develop and showcase ideas, with the aim of trialling agreed proposals in April or May.
