Heritage group set to launch second book

THE long anticipated second book by the Kilsyth Heritage Group is to be officially launched at R. A. Cant and Son on Main Street next week.

After the success of their first offering charting the changes in the town throughout the 1930s and ‘40s, the group got to work researching the period from 1950 to 1970.

Their new 48 page publication, priced at only £2, contains all of the fascinating stories they uncovered, accompanied by a number of intriguing pictures.

Member Anne Russell said: “Good reports of ‘pure nostalgia’, ‘a great wee book’ and ‘love it’ are some of the comments received so far.”

The event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 17, from 11am to 1pm and the book will be on sale at the shop thereafter.

Anyone wishing to attend on Tuesday will be made more than welcome.
