Highgate staff's leap of faith

Four daring members of staff from Bupa's Highgate Care Home in Viewpark took a huge leap of faith to raise £810 for charity.

Home manager Michelle Ferrey, administrator Shell Edgar, maintenance manager Alex Stark and activity coordinator Janine Boyle completed a 165ft abseil down the Forth Bridge in aid of Age UK.

Age UK is Bupa’s chosen charity and is the country’s largest charity dedicated to helping everyone make the most of later life.

Michelle said: “I am so proud of the team for raising such a fantastic amount of money for such a great charity.

“It was a fabulous day and the rain thankfully held off until after our abseil. Hearing the trains pass above our heads was a bit disconcerting, but once we were abseiling there were big smiles on our faces.

“I was terrified, but Age UK is an amazing charity and we are thrilled to have been able to help this wonderful cause.”
