Holy Trinity Chapel in Lamington hosts the Scottish Guild of Servers

The service was a Solemn Sung Evensong, which included dousting the altar with Frankincense, a ceremonial walk at the start of the service round the perimeter of the chapel and the same at the end.

The procession, led by Rev Sydney Maitland, also carried candles and a cross.

Richard Smith, from the Guild of Servers, part of the Episcopal Church, said: “It’s a lovely little chapel and we were delighted to come along.

“The people who have worked in restoring it have done a fantastic job.

“I know that a lot of hard work has been put it in and it’s a credit to everyone who has given their time and effort in getting the chapel fit for purpose.

“We normally have one away day a year and in the past we have been to places like Rosslyn Chapel and Glasgow Cathedral and the Holy Trinity Chapel was as good a day as our visits to those places.

“We were very lucky with the weather and we also enjoyed a lovely meal at the Old Mill Inn in Coulter.”
