Holyrood asked to rescue Lanark from traffic chaos

HOLYROOD is being asked to step in to rescue Lanark from its increasingly chronic traffic chaos.

At the end of another week which saw near gridlock in the town centre with local motorists fast losing patience with the system attempting to direct 21st century traffic through a 12th century road layout, a local man has come up with what he thinks might be a twin solution.

Part of it is very direct – the outright ban of all lorries over 40 tonnes coming through the town, other than local deliveries.
