Hope for Clydesdale’s proposed new town?

Just months after South Lanarkshire Council knocked back planning permission for the creation of the 3000 home community near Rigside, a major national institution, the Scottish Housing Commission, has stated we don’t need just one Owenstown but EIGHT of them to address the nation’s growing housing shortage.

The timing for Owentown’s backers, the Hometown Foundation, couldn’t have been better as it just recently lodged an appeal against the council decision with the Scottish Government.

It is to the Holyrood government that the report has been directed.
