Hopes fade that Lanark will ever see return of historic wooden auction ring

HOPES that Lanark will ever see the return of its historic landmark wooden auction ring faded this week.

It has been officially confirmed that NOTHING will be done until 2015 to force the company which promised its restoration as part of its planning permission to build the Braidfute Retail Park to fulfill that pledge.

That will be ten years AFTER it originally undertook to rebuild the century-old structure BEFORE any of the new shops were opened, shops that have been operating for six years now.

For more information on this story, pick up a copy of this week’s Lanark Gazette which is in the shops now.
