Hopes high that new-look White House will help transform the town centre

THERE are few more appropriate circumstances where 'a breath of fresh air' accurately describes the thoughts of all Kilsythians.

The image you see here is a mock-up of what the White House building will look like once the renovation work is completed in October.

Having fallen into a state of decline for several years; the once proud haberdashery has gradually become an ugly blot on the town centre.

However, the work to create four flats and up to four retail units will rejuvenate not only the White House, but also the surrounding section of Main Street.

Councillor Jean Jones is delighted with how things are progressing.

She said: "I'm glad to see this project move forward and, looking at the impression of the finished buildings and the plans, the project should bring the Main Street back to life.

"I hope that once they are complete they will be able to fill the units. You just have to visit the Main Street to see the difference in the area already".
