House blaze appeal
POLICE investigating an incident of wilful fire-raising in Abronhill have issued a witness appeal through the News and Chronicle.
Firefighters made a 5am dash to Alder Road last Wednesday (March 7) and managed to extinguish the blaze. Fortunately the house was empty but an elderly neighbour suffered the effects of smoke inhalation and had to be rushed to Monklands Hospital. The individual has since been released.
