Parents and carers of young children in East Dunbartonshire can take advantage of free in-car safety clinics being held in Bearsden and Bishopbriggs.

Officers in East Dunbartonshire Council have organised the FREE sessions as part of Scottish Road Safety Week.

Two free in-car safety clinics will run in East Dunbartonshire to provide support and reassurance to concerned parents, grandparents and carers by providing experts who can check their child seats in the car.

Theya re being held at ASDA, Bearsden on Friday, May 8, from 9am-12 noon.

East Dunbartonshire Council Broomhill Depot on Friday, May 8, from 1.30-4.30pm (Visitors’ car park)

Last year, 66 car seats were checked in the East Dunbartonshire Good Egg In-Car Safety Campaign. Of those, 33 were correctly fitted, 19 had minor faults, 12 had major faults and 2 were incompatible.

Depute leader of the council and convener of neighbourhood services, Ashay Ghai, said: “I think we’ll all agree that the safety of children is of utmost importance and by popping along to your nearest clinic you can ensure that you have fitted your child car seat correctly and safely.

“This annual campaign is always extremely popular in East Dunbartonshire and I am sure, as in previous years, that many parents will take advantage of this opportunity for a free in-car check and advice.”
