Hunting bow stolen

A BREAK-IN at a home in Shawlands has seen the theft of a bow and arrows.

The Black Mamba bow and 24 carbine arrows were stolen from a flat in Cartha Street in the southside.

Police say the owner noticed the break-in on returning home at 4.30am on Tuesday.

They added that the sport equipment was a “professional standard weapon” and have urged the public to contact them if anyone offers it for sale.

Detective constable Marc Kelly said: “There is no requirement for any kind of licence for this hunting bow.

“Firstly, I would appeal to anyone who was in the Cartha Street area of Shawlands and saw anyone either out of place or acting suspiciously to contact me as soon as possible.

“I would also appeal to anyone who may have been offered this hunting bow for sale to get in touch.

“This is a professional standard weapon used by hunters and not something that would be seen often”.
