If you go down to the woods today . . .

GETTING back to nature is the name of the game at Crookfur primary as pupils and staff develop a new woodland area in school grounds.

Crookfur Woodland will comprise thirty trees and sixty hedges.

James Ratter (p2) said: “I like getting dirty in the outdoor learning focus group.

I liked measuring the holes for our trees.”

Miss Reynolds the outdoor learning focus group co-ordinator said: “The project has been supported by local businesses who supplied trees, stakes, tools, wild flower seeds and mulch; all of which will be used to create Crookfur’s Woodland. I would also like to thank our Parent Council, B&Q Darnley, Treewise Scotland, Asda, theTool Shed initiative and the RHS for all of their support. This is a sustainable project which will provide lasting benefits for all pupils at Crookfur Primary.”
