Is Lanark Loch towser-tower a shaggy dog story?

A BIZARRE sight some claim to have seen at Lanark Loch has been dismissed as probably being just another one of those ridiculous ‘urban myths’.

At a meeting of the town’s recent Community Council, members discussed complaints from the public about the state of the pathway around the banks of Lanark Loch, a popular spot for dog-walkers and strollers.

Two members said they had heard that one very casual dog-walker exercised their pooch around the pathway, towing it in their CAR with its leash tied to his back bumper!

But South Lanarkshire Council’s head of facilities, waste and ground services, Stephen Kelly, told the Gazette: “It is not possible for a regular motor vehicle to drive right around the perimeter of the Loch and there is also a barrier to prevent vehicular access.”
