Is Lanark’s star the wrong way up?

GAZETTE readers are notoriously sharp-eyed for anything amiss going on in their town centre, especially around the Burgh’s Cross.

So, it was hardly surprising that, when the annual Christmas decorations were put up on the Town Steeple, several were quick to alert us to the fact that the traditional star atop the display appeared to be upside down!

However, South Lanarkshire Council, responsible for the display, says that it is the right way up.
