Isla Rennie was Pettinain family's first-footer

TALL, dark, and handsome she is not but Isla Ruby Rennie was a very special first-foot for her family.

For Isla, pictured with her proud parents Lynn Forrest and Douglas Rennie, was the first baby of 2010 born at Wishaw General, arriving just 17 minutes into the New Year.

Isla is the family's third child — Gemma, who will soon be five, and Robert, who has just turned three, are besotted with the new arrival.

"They love her to bits," said Lynn.

Although Isla was an early New Year baby, she was actually a late baby,

originally expected on December 20.

Lynn said: "I went in to Wishaw to be induced on the Wednesday. They ended up putting in a drip at 9pm on Hogmanay, and she was born three hours and 17 minutes later," said Lynn.
