Jobs boost hope at health firm

MSP Jamie Hepburn recently visited a healthcare company in Cumbernauld to learn more about the positive effects the growth of the business is having on the wider community.

Park House Healthcare provides healthcare equipment and related services to health boards and community service providers throughout Scotland, including NHS Lanarkshire and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Mr Hepburn was pleased to learn about the growth of Park House Healthcare in Cumbernauld over the last few years and how that has created an additional 10 positions within the company, many of which are now held by people local to the area.

Park Healthcare’s national service manager James Jamieson also explained to Mr Hepburn the extensive decontamination of equipment which takes place at the Wardpark site, and how staff have been trained and are now accredited to carry out this work which is so vital to the health sector.

The politician was also informed of plans which Park House Healthcare have for possible expansion of the Wardpark site in the future, and also of plans to possibly employ more local people at the site.

He said:“It is encouraging to hear of a business that is able to grow and expand in the local area, especially in light of the economic difficulties still faced by many.

It was also encouraging to hear of the companies commitment to the local area, especially with regards to future employability.

“I was impressed by the size and extensive nature of the business at Wardpark and hope in future more local individuals will benefit from the training at work already on offer to current employees.

“I look forward to seeing further development of the business at Wardpark, and I hope that this encourages more businesses to see the benefits of a base in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.”
