Junior officers recognised

Pupils across North Lanarkshire have been commended for their efforts in educating others about road safety.

North Lanarkshire Council held its annual Junior Road Safety Officer (JRSO) Awards ceremony recently, with prizes presented for the best team, campaign, noticeboard and co-ordinator.

The Noticeboard of the Year Award was won by the team from Chryston Primary School.

Councillor James Coyle, Convener of Planning and Transportation, said: “Congratulations to our JRSOs and Co-ordinators who received awards today, and to all those in schools across North Lanarkshire who work so hard all year to promote road safety.

“Their enthusiasm and creative ideas help other pupils and parents learn how to stay safe on their journeys to and from school and when they’re out and about in the community.

“They are an inspiration to their peers and a credit to their schools.”
