Kilsyth Civic Week looks super already

IS it a bird, is it a plane? No it’s a super-exciting Kilsyth Civic Week.

The organisers of the annual event have announced that this year’s theme will be superheroes.

The event will take place between June 8 and 15, with the main festivities happening on June 8.

Kilsyth Councillor Jean Jones, who is one of the organisers of the event, said: “This year the theme will be superheroes.

“Everyone will at first think Batman, Superman etc but what it can be is someone who has helped you or you admire like your homecare worker, a parent, a youth worker etc.”

The civic party has also been announced and is as follows queen - Jennifer Clelland, St Maurice’s High School; ladies in waiting - Siobhan Bolan and Emma McKenzie, St Maurice’s High School; page boys - Josh Bolan and David Trower, St Patrick’s Primary School; ushers - Ben Newey and Jay Stewart, Kilsyth Primary School; flowergirls - Gemma McConnell and Lauren Egan, Balmalloch Primary School and chamberlain - Adam Boyd, Kilsyth Academy.
