Kilsyth dog lovers to the rescue

A KILSYTH woman has issued a heartwarming thank you to people in the town who have helped her dogs battle cancer.

Angela McGuire is the proud owner of two cross terriers Scampi and Rollie, and both the dogs have been diagnosed with cancer.

The dogs, who turn nine in October, were born to Angela’s previous dog Sacha and have been in her care since they were puppies.

Angela, who lives in Argyle Place, said: “The dogs are basically my world. It might sound mad to some people but everything I do, I do it for them.”

The health of one of the animals, however, took a turn for the worst back in March as Angela explained: “I started noticing small lumps all over Scampi and she went to stay with my mum for the weekend.

“When she came back they had expanded and I took her to the vets where I was told they would need to do an operation and biopsy the lumps – and there was a 50/50 chance it could be cancer.”
