The adoption of the Kirkintilloch Masterplan at a recent meeting of East Dunbartonshire Council’s Development and Regeneration Committee caps months of consultation and hard work.

The vision behind the masterplan is to create “a reinvigorated heart for Kirkintilloch that is vibrant, welcoming, and attractive” - providing a balance of leisure, civic, retail, business and tourism facilities.

East Dunbartonshire Council leader Rhondda Geekie said: “I am delighted this vitally important project has reached yet another milestone.

“Kirkintilloch town centre is one of the jewels in the crown for East Dunbartonshire and we are determined to see it survive and thrive in what is an extremely tough economic climate.
