Knocked off 'bargains' alert

LOCALS are being warned that high priced electrical goods might be offered for sale at bargain prices - but the items are stolen.

Police are trying to recover goods worth more than 40,000 following a break-in at Buchanan Business Park in Stepps last Saturday (February 13).

The thieves' haul included computers and camcorders. A quantity of black Toshiba NB200 notebooks was also stolen - and police believe that the thieves could attempt to sell them on in the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth area.

DC David MacGregor said: "The property was removed from the premises in a UK Pallets lorry which was later recovered minus the items at the business premises.

"I would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen such a vehicle late on the Saturday night in question to come forward,'' he added.

Anyone who has been offered such goods at knockdown prices is being asked to contact CID on 01236 503900.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers free and in confidence on 0800 555 111.
