KOSB veteran thanks Gazette as group takes off

A CARLUKE army veteran has thanked the Gazette for its help in forming a group aimed at helping former soldiers.Robert Cruickshanks, a former King’s Own Scottish Borderer, contacted the Gazette in April seeking our help in establishing a group for veterans of that regiment.

It recruited in Clydesdale following the disbandment of the Cameronians in 1968.

The new KOSB Lanarkshire Association held its first AGM in early May and has since gone on to boast more than 80 members – not bad in little more than six months.
