Ladies who lunch for Jewish Care Scotland

A Ladies Do Lunch event has helped raised £5,000 for Jewish Care Scotland.

The second ladies event proved a huge success, with more than 170 ladies attending the Giffnock Synagogue banqueting suite, decorated for the occasion by Jennifer Watson, Andrea Fox and Shirley Brown, of the Ladies Do Lunch committee.

Entertainment for the afternoon was provided by The Williams Jazz Quartet and comedian Isobel Rutter, and the ladies were also treated to lunch catered by En Croute, games, a raffle and a silent auction.

Elspeth Campbell, fundraising manager, wished to highlight “the work done by the volunteers of Jewish Care Scotland and the support given to individuals and families by the charity’s foodbank and hardship fund”.

She added: “The money raised today is going directly to help people in the community experiencing hardship and crisis to keep the charity’s community social care services in place over the coming months.”

The charity representative added thanks to sponsors Slaters, Advanced Group, Emreco, Constance Care and Brewin Dolphin, and commented: “We have had great feedback — the ladies really enjoyed the opportunity to gather with friends and family and havefun while at the same time supporting Scotland’s leading Jewish social care charity.

“We look forward to planning next year’s event.”
