Lanark could go whole year without proper post office

That was the dire warning issued which seems to dash any hope of a parcel post service being restored to the town’s businesses during the vital Christmas trading season.

There is growing frustration over the slowness in getting a full-time postal counter service following the suspected arson attack which knocked out the St Leonard Street office in June.
