Lanark Grammar and St Aidan’s High pupils bid to banish bigotry

SIXTY pupils from Lanark Grammar and St Aidan’s High School were urged to banish bigotry during a friendly game.

The event, held at Lanark Racecourse, saw S2 and S3 pupils take part in matches refereed by senior pupils.

Annyse Ewing, from Lanark Grammar, said: “Lanark Grammar School is working towards Nil By Mouth’s Anti-sectarian Accreditation.

“David Scott, campaign director of Nil By Mouth, gave a short talk to the pupils about the importance of tackling sectarianism.

“He reminded pupils that the charity, Nil By Mouth was started almost ten years ago by Cara Henderson, a young girl who was shocked by the death of her friend, Mark Scott – the victim of a sectarian murder.”
