Lanark Grammar’s old building bites the dust

The Lanark Grammar School building – so dear to many former pupils – lies in a heap of rubble now, with only a stairway to nowhere remaining.

Many pupils felt the school should be saved, perhaps being turned into flats after the new school building in nearby Kirklands Road opened, or that the traditional stonework facade should be retained.
