Lanark Panto juniors take over 2012 production

WHEN Lanark Panto Juniors declared it would be youth at the helm for this year’s production, they weren’t kidding!

Indeed, the combined ages of the six young folk running this year’s show is less than that of some individual senior members of the parent Lanark Panto Club!

In the director’s chair is 14-year-old Jonathan Romer, the producer is Eve Robb (15), musical director is Dougie Scott (16), choreographer is Ellie Raeside (15) and Holly Baxter (14) is stage manager.

Having a production staff entirely made up of teenagers is a source of great pride to Lanark Panto Club’s chairwoman, Karen Brown.

She said: “When Juniors was set up in 2007, it was to encourage the kids into the wonderful world of panto. That was phase one. Now five years on and our sixth show, we have decided to hit phase two and let the kids take over!”
