Lanark Primary to be demolished and replaced with £8.6 million school

THE ‘death warrant’ of a school attended by thousands of Lanarkians since World War Two has been officially signed.

A meeting of South Lanarkshire Council’s planning committee took the dual decision to demolish the existing 1950s vintage Lanark Primary and to build its £8.6 million replacement on the same site, off Rhyber Avenue.

The soon to be demolished school was never an architectural gem but holds many nostalgic memories.
