The letter, sent to 60 homes in Stuart Drive, Kildare Drive and Stanmore Avenue, stated that the Association, which provides rented social housing thoughout the area, was now taking over as the legal factor for their homes.

The only trouble was that 49 of the 60 homes were not the Association’s but were owned privately by the families living in them!

One of the homeowners rallied the residents of the three streets to tell the Association to withdraw the letter and presented a petition to its Hope Street headquarters on Tuesday morning.

Petition organiser Ronald Logan, of 17 Stuart Drive, told the Gazette of his fury at the “arrogance” of the Association letter.
