Lanark tourist centre stays open for business

DESPITE persistent rumours to the contrary, Lanark’s Tourist Information Centre at the Horsemarket will NOT be closed.

Speculation has been rife in the town that the now long-established centre directing visitors to local attractions is to be dispensed with by VisitScotland and a smaller facility created in the newly-refurbished Memorial Hall when it re-opens early next year.

However, VisitScotland has now officially refuted these claims and, indeed, said that the centre is doing an increasingly effective job.
