East Dunbartonshire’s primary schools are currently adapting to larger P1-P3 class sizes and the loss of some classroom assistants, while in secondary schools there are now fewer School Assistants.

Education officers will prepare the seminar after a team of education professionals produced a report - presented to councillors recently - that found the changes had “minimal impact” on standards.

Education convener Eric Gotts said: “It will give Councillors an opportunity to review and monitor the impact of budget decisions on attainment and achievement standards which remain high in East Dunbartonshire despite the challenges faced by schools.”
