A 30-YEAR-OLD man has been reported to the procurator fiscal for alleged licensing offences in Cumbernauld Village.

The man was arrested on Friday, December 7, at around 5pm.

It is also alleged he resisted arrest and assaulted police officers.

A 53-YEAR-OLD man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for allegedly making hoax calls to the emergency services.

The man was arrested on Friday, December 7, in relation to the alleged incidents which happened between November 22 and December 7.

He was due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday, December 10.

PROPERTY was stolen from the outbuilding of a Cumbernauld church.

The theft happened at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church in Baronhill, The Village, sometime between late evening on Saturday, December 8, and the early hours of the next day.

Thieves gained entry by removing a plastic window.

POLICE are warning residents to be on their guard after a bogus caller gained access to an elderly man’s property.

The man visited a home on Kyle Road, Cumbernauld at around 1.30pm on Friday, December 7.

He told the occupier he would need access to the house to repair water leaks within.

The bogus caller had a look around the house before leaving.

He is described as between 25 and 35 years old, around 5’6” and he had dark hair. He was wearing all dark clothes.

A 53-YEAR-OLD man has been reported to the procurator fiscal for being involved in a number of alleged thefts within the Greenrigg and Millcroft areas recently.

The man was arrested on Sunday, December 9, on Greenrigg Road and he was due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday, December 10.
