Alasdair Logan, from Giffnock, entered the competition during a visit to his local library and scooped a family pass to see kids’ comedian and Boyface book author James Campbell at Eastwood Park Theatre.

Alasdair’s joke was chosen from over 120 competition entries from eight local primary schools and five libraries from across East Renfrewshire.

James invited the young comedian to the stage and told his joke to the audience as part of his Giffnock gig: “Bob asked Bill ‘Why were you not at James’ party?’ and he replied ‘Because the invite said 4-8-and I’m 9!’”

James also awarded him with a signed copy of his book ‘The Funny Life of Pets’ and posed for a picture with Alasdair and his friend, Joseph O’Donnell.
