Life Cafe helpers honoured

The efforts of volunteers at the Recovery Life Cafe at Kirkintilloch have been recognised.

The volunteers, who give up their time to help make life better for recovering addicts, were awarded special certificates recently.

The cafe is held every 1st Saturday of the month at Kirkintilloch Baptist Church.

Volunteers organise a range of special theme nights which are thoroughly enjoyed by the many who attend.

John Kennedy, of the cafe, said: “The latest theme was ‘Summer Night’ and was attended by many who enjoyed a lovely meal served up by the amazing volunteers. They give up lots of their free time to make a massive difference to people in recovery.

“Certificates were handed out to those who have helped make the evenings a success.”
