Locals losing out on benefits
Residents across South Lanarkshire could be losing out on housing benefit or council tax reduction.
The council has reported that people who are receiving these benefits very often do not let them know if their circumstances change.
As a result some residents are financially worse off than they have to be, while others could be receiving more benefit or a greater reduction than they are entitled to receive – which will leave them worse off in the long run.
