Those who have given outstanding service to the cause of equestrianism were recognised at the Society’s annual award ceremony held at Saddlers’ Hall, London on Friday November 8.

Liz, a former pupil of Greenfaulds High in the town, was stunned to find she was being presented with her award by none other than the President of The British Horse Society, Martin Clunes, a role in which he takes great pleasure, saying: “This is what I love about the BHS – the fact that people who are passionate about horses are not just talking about what needs to be done, but getting out there and doing it.”

Liz said: “It was a huge honour to receive this award in recognition of the work I have put in as the society’s welfare officer for Strathclyde.”
