Long serving club members in the spotlight

Hamilton Operatic and Dramatic Club held an awards dinner to celebrate the long service of 19 of its members.

Taking the limelight was May Weir who was presented with her 50 years National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) Long Service Gold Bar and certificate by David Black, NODA’s regional representative in Lanarkshire.

The 19 have served the club for a total of 535 years, and also recognised were Alison McCulloch, Mhairi Thomson, Pauline Jordan, Peter Scally and Margot Aitken (all 10 years), Elizabeth Clements (15 years), Frank Bent, Emma Rodger and Valerie Bowie (all 20 years) Wendy MacFarlane (30 years), John McCulloch and Paul Nardone (35 years), Lindsay Mills and George Nardone (both 40 years) Joyce Tweedlie, Avril Gibson, Aileen Henderson and May Nardone (all 45 years).

The club’s next production will be “Me & My Girl” which runs from November 15-19, in Motherwell Concert Hall at 7.30pm each evening.

Tickets are priced £12 and £15, with £10 concessions available for the opening night and £40 family tickets (two adults/two children) available for November 15-17. A discount is offered for group bookings of 20 or more.
