Lord Lieutenant looks for local heroes

WILL Clydesdale contribute Lanarkshire’s ‘unsung hero’ who will go to London to represent the county at an important cultural celebration?

The Lord Lieutenant of the county is on the look out for nominations for the person who has done most to improve life and culture in Lanarkshire but has so far gone without official recognition.

The chosen candidate is in line for an experience of a lifetime: attending the Commonwealth Carnival of Music at Westminster Hall in London.

The event is being held on July 2 to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Commonwealth Year of Culture and the Cultural Olympiad.

Along with the unsung hero, a young performer, musician, singer, dancer or other artist will also be chosen to represent the county and attend.
