Lotto boost is Christmas cracker

CHRISTMAS has come earlier for two local organisations who have received a cash boost from The Big Lottery Fund.

Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Cumbernauld and The Marvels Cheerleaders in Kilsyth have both received over £9,000.

An award of £9,920 was given to Cornerstone Christian Fellowship and the group will use the money to conduct a feasibility study into the development of a social enterprise forum which is aimed specifically at faith based groups at Scotland.

The money will fund existing staff to conduct the research and write up the findings along with venue hire.

The Marvels Cheerleaders received £9,280 which they will use to refurbish an unused local industrial unit to create its own dance studio.

The group say this will expand the range of activities it can offer and provide a new community space for local people.

The grant will fund paint, a painter, mirrors, wood for floor, fittings, fixtures, lighting, wiring, an electrician, non slip dance flooring and waiting area flooring.
