Luda celebrates her 100th birthday in Lesmahagow home

A GRAND old lady, Hilda May Triggs – known as Luda – celebrated her 100th birthday at Auchlochan Garden Village in Lesmahagow.

Hilda spent most of her life in England, but moved to Auchlochan in June 2006, and she has been enjoying her time there and making many new friends.

She was born in Aldershot where her father served as a Sergeant Major with the Queen’s Bays. One of her younger brothers had difficulty saying her name and she became known as Luda.
