Marathon route takes in southside

Starting and finishing at Glasgow Green, the 26.2 mile race will cross the Clyde via the squinty bridge to take in Bellahouston and Pollok Parks, as well as passing Hampden stadium, another Commonwealth Games venue.

The event is on Sunday, July 27, and spectators won’t need a ticket to watch as the marathon is one of three free events taking place across the city.

Glasgow city council and Transport Scotland have promised that disruption to traffic will be minimised, but that temporary changes will be put in place — spectators are advised to plan their travel in advance.
