Marriage makes history at Lanark Market on April 29, 2011!
HISTORY was made at Lanark Market on Friday, when its first full marriage ceremony was held in the concourse in front of 200 guests.
C Just a few hours after Prince William and Kate Middleton had exchanged their vows at Westminster Abbey, Lanark couple Steven Dempster and Ginette McKenna tied the knot at a 5pm service taken by the groom’s uncle Colin Dempster, a Church of Scotland minister.
“It was a lovely day and very enjoyable,” said Lanark Market events manager Marjory Macgregor.
