The girls came out on top against 10 other S1 and S2 students, all whisking for glory for a chance to work with East Ren chef and judge John Quigley, chef patron of the Red Onion.

Anna and Alice’s lemon soufflé with raspberry coulis will now appear on the lunch menu at the bistro, as well as at the school canteen.

Just like the BBC’s Masterchef, the event was filmed — this time by media studies pupils, for the Mearns Castle website.
