resident Tom Robertson has lashed out at what he claims is "unforgiveable exploitation" being conducted by people he dismisses as "total frauds".

Hide AdHe told the Gazette: "I know that there is a group of these people working in our area, going to recently bereaved people or advertising locally through posters and handbills.
"I have even got evidence of them conning people into allowing them into their private homes to conduct so-called seances.
"I can't find the words to describe my contempt for people who do this; they are heartless vultures, exploiting the grief of good but gullible people who are desperate to get in touch with someone they miss."
He said that he was not afraid to challenge anyone who claimed to have these powers...to prove they had the abilities.

Hide AdHe said: "I'll make an open offer to them to come to any of their seances and try to convince me that they are the genuine article. I'll bet none of them take me up on that because those involved in this group know they are fakes."
Tom admits there are genuine people who believe they have the power to
contact the dead and his criticism is purely directed against the specific group going about the Lanark area at the moment.
