Milngavie's second Classic Car Show attracted over 8,000 visitors

The organisers, Milngavie’s Business Improvement District (BID), were delighted to attract 74 cars in total and the number of visitors (around 8,000 throughout the day) was also double compared to last year.

The display had a fire engine, New York PD car, mustang, cadillac, a number of American cars, Jaguars, Ford Falcon, and some beautiful classics.

The oldest car was aged 114 years and was called Alldays & Onions, an exquisite example!

There was something for all ages with face painting, magician, balloon twisting and some dance and music entertainment for the rest of the audience including the Jive and Rock&Roll Dance group.

Ania Surma, Milngavie BID Co-ordinator, said: “There was a very positive atmosphere across the whole village and it was great seeing people meeting their old friends and engaging with car owners and other activities.

“We had a high number of local and new visitors who travelled from different areas such as Glasgow South Side, Greenock, Clarkston, Largs, Hamilton, Clydebank and many more places just for the show spending whole day in Milngavie!”

The winner of this year’s “the best in show” prize worth £200 was David Quigley with his beautiful American Pontiac 1949. The prize was kindly sponsored by Angelwax.
