Model pupils take to the bus to help promote city tour

A bus company has enlisted the smiles of Langside Primary School pupils to showcase its open-top tours.

In preparation for its 2018 spring and summer season the team at City Sightseeing Glasgow decided the best way to promote its city tour, and the attractions served, would be to enlist the support of real Glaswegians.

The P4 pupils, teachers and parents at Langside Primary, Shawlands were happy to step on-board.

The images, which will be used on a range of marketing materials including social media, capture the model pupils traveling on the open-top bus around the city while visiting many of the key attractions served on route. This included the People’s Palace, Riverside Museum, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and the Clydeside Distillery, a new attraction which will be served by City Sightseeing Glasgow in the spring.

Whilst at the Clydeside Distillery, which will be serviced officially from Friday 23 March, the pupils where given a behind the scenes tour of the newly opened distillery.

Jonathan Harwood, supervisor at City Sightseeing Glasgow said: “Glasgow is considered one of the friendliest cities in the world. We were therefore keen to showcase not just our key attractions but the city’s friendly faces too.

“The photo shoot was a great success and the kids, teachers and parents were the perfect models. We hope this will encourage both locals and visitors to experience Glasgow on board our City Sightseeing Glasgow open-top tour bus.”

Head teacher at Langside Primary, Paul Meehan said: “Our P4 pupils, teachers and parents were only too happy to lend their smiley faces to City Sightseeing Glasgow’s photo shoot. The kids enjoyed themselves enormously and found the tour fun and educational.

“The VIP reception, and behind the scenes tour, they received from the team at the Clydeside Distillery was the highlight of the tour.”

Bridgeen Mullen, visitor centre manager at Clydeside Distillery said: “Hosting the school visit in advance of the open top bus serving the distillery later in the month was a pleasure. The response and interaction from the pupils was terrific and it was clear to see we were very much in the company of the next generation of budding distillers, retailers and future entrepreneurs.”
